"It's better than banging a tambourine"

Mandy attended the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art and is a fully-trained classical actress. She decided to work in stand up comedy thanks to a deep fear of ending up in crap fringe theatre, where actors spend their time in rehearsals running around and exploring their inner child with the use of a silk scarf and a tambourine.

Mandy is the former Time Out Comedy Award winner and was the very first female comic to compere for the Jongleurs comedy chain. As a stand-up (Gig guide) she has headlined all over the world including Dubai, Hong Kong, China, Thailand, South Africa and Rickmansworth . She has appeared on numerous television and radio entertainment shows including: Live at Jongleurs, The Comedy Store and The World Stands Up on Paramount channel.

As a television actress, Mandy appeared as a main character in Jo Brand's Like it or Lump it. She has also appeared with David Baddiel in The Baddiel Syndrome and on The Little Big Woman Radio Show.

Her other television credits include presenting various shows including Live Time (a sort of Richard and Judy style show - where she held fascinating interviews with people about things like National Cheese Week) and writing for television, most recently for Carlton TV's Des and Mel Show.

She has used her talents as both a stand up and fine character actress to perform three one-woman shows in Edinburgh, London and Sydney:
